Washington mulls restoring Turkey’s access to F-35
The move comes after the Trump Administration recently signalled its intent to sell restricted fighter jet engines to Ankara. US President Donald Trump is said to be on the verge of restoring Turkey’s access to the Lockheed Martin F-35 stealth fighter programme. Trump is in Ankara this week for NATO’s annual summer summit, where he will meet with heads of state and government from the 32-member alliance, including Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. There, Trump and Erodgan are discussing a pathway to renewing Turkey’s membership in the multinational F-35 programme.
