IOC paves way for Russia’s Olympic return
Russia could compete at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics after the International Olympic Committee provisionally lifted on Tuesday the suspension imposed in October 2023. Russian athletes were banned from participating in official Olympic team competitions in February 2022, and the Russian Olympic Committee was suspended the following October. “The International Olympic Committee Executive Board has provisionally lifted the suspension of the Russian Olympic Committee,” said the IOC in a statement .
