Ukrainian F-16 fighters set for IRIS-T missile integration
Donated fighters appear set to gain German-built weapon. Ukraine plans to begin arming its Lockheed Martin F-16 fighters with the German-produced IRIS-T short-range air-to-air missile, according to the weapon’s manufacturer. “The [Ukrainian air force’s] F-16s will be equipped most likely this is what we are currently preparing with our IRIS-T,” Diehl Defence chief programme officer Harald Bushek said at the ILA Berlin air show on 11 June. He did not disclose further details about the planned activity.
