Kawasaki, Airbus to explore Japanese anti-submarine warfare derivative of Eurodrone

European airframe could be equipped with Japanese sensors and effectors. Kawasaki Heavy Industries has signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus to explore the potential use of the latter’s U950 Eurodrone as a maritime surveillance and anti-submarine warfare (ASW) asset. Announced on 26 June, the agreement will lead to further discussions “to develop options for the design, development and commercialisation for a future Japanese maritime version”, the European company says.
